Students may transfer into the
program during the pre-professional phase of the
curriculum. Perspective transfer students must
have a minimum college Q.P.A. of at least 3.0
for all courses attempted, a composite SAT I score
of 1100 or a composite ACT score of 24, and a
minimum of 110 documented volunteer or paid hours
to transfer into year two (sophomore) or 180 hours
to transfer into year three (junior) in a physical
therapy setting supervised by a licensed physical
therapist. In all cases, students must have accumulated
250 paid or volunteer hours, at two separate sites,
by the end of the Spring Semester of year three
in order to enter the professional curriculum
in year four. The length of this plan of studies
varies depending on the number of credits transferred
to the university, but will likely be four or
five years long. Prerequisite courses (see below)
must be completed by the end of year three. Students
will earn Bachelors degrees at the end of year
four and the DPT at the end of year six. Prerequisite
Courses: Prior to
entry to the professional DTP program, all students
must have successfully passed the following courses
with a minimum of a "C" grade:
Psychology - 3 credits
*Biostatistics/statistics - 3 credits
*Biology with labs - 8 credits
*Chemistry with labs - 8 credits
*Physics with labs - 8 credits
*These courses must be equivalent
to course taken by science majors and must be
taken at a four year, degree-granting institution.
