The Physician Assistant National Certification Examination (also known as "PANCE") is the qualifying examination administered by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for physician assistant graduates. Following successful completion of the PANCE, a physician assistant is "certified" to practice and can use the initials "PA-C." The examination is a comprehensive assessment of an individual's clinical knowledge. Below are listed the Duquesne University Pass rates for each class.

The Duquesne University Physician Assistant Program success rate for first-time test takers over the last five years (2004-2008) was 95.8%, with a corresponding national rate of approximately 91.7%. For the past five classes (2003-2007), 100% of all graduates have successfully passed the PANCE and are NCCPA-certified. The Mean PANCE score for the previous five years (2003-2007) for Duquesne graduates was 504.7, with a corresponding National Mean PANCE score of 501.3. These scores reflect the favorable outcomes for Duquesne University graduates, when compared to the corresponding national scores.
