Transfer applicants to Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech-Language Pathology must have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 to be considered.
Transfer Applicants to Athletic Training and Health Management Systems must have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 to be considered.
- Applicants must submit a typed, double-spaced, critical self-evaluation essay discussing: (1) why you became interested in the field and the program for which you are applying; (2) general work experience and any other experiences you wish to share; (3) honors you have received; (4) long-term professional goals. Competitive essays demonstrate an awareness of the field and are usually a maximum of three pages in length.
- Applicants should include a resume or curriculum vita.
- Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy applicants must include documentation of shadowing, volunteer or paid experience in the applicant's respective field.The summary must indicate the facility name, supervisor's name (including signature and licensure number where applicable), dates of experience(s) and types of responsibilities and/or observations.
- Occupational Therapy applicants must include documentation of 120 volunteer hours with 60 hours in a community setting providing services and 60 hours of volunteer or paid experience in occupation therapy prior to admittance into the professional phase of the program.
- Physical Therapy applicants must include documentation of 100 volunteer hours in a minimum of two different clinical practice settings prior to admittance into the professional phase of the program.
- Applicants to the Speech-Language Pathology program who wish to be eligible for state teacher certification as a “Teacher of the Speech and Language Impaired” must include copies of syllabi from any prior education coursework.
Deadlines:
For Physical Therapy, all applications must be received by May 1.
For Athletic Training, Health Management Systems, Occupational Therapy and Speech-Language Pathology, all applications must be received by July 1.
Due to capacity constraints we are not accepting transfer or second-degree applications to the Physician Assistant Studies program. Any student with more than 12 post-secondary credits is considered a transfer student.
