Bachelor of Science in Health Management Systems / Pre-Health Degree
In order to prepare its graduates for a career in today's healthcare environment, the Rangos School of Health Sciences' Department of Health Management Systems has created a new degree track that trains aspiring physicians with a strong foundation in science as well as with the necessary skills in technology and business. Through a partnership between the Department of Health Management Systems and the Pre-Health Professions Program, students will gain this critical combination of skills at the undergraduate level.

Bachelor of Science in Health Management Systems (BSHMS) Degree Program
The Bachelor of Science in Health Management Systems (BSHMS) degree program with the RHIA option is accredited by the American Health Information Management Association's Council on Accreditation, in collaboration with the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Graduates are eligible for the national certification examination to become a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA). In addition, graduates are employees in information technology, consulting, hospitals, managed care and physician practice positions.
