Dana began her career as a Paramedic and Registered Nurse specializing in critical care and emergency medicine. She designed and implemented the first paramedic training program offered by Allegheny General Hospital. After many years of practice as an RN, she completed her education as a PA at Duquesne University. Since graduating in 1996, she has worked primarily in Family, Occupational and Emergency Medicine. During her tenure in Family Practice, she was instrumental in the implementation of an EMR system and other documentation tools. She continues regular clinical practice but joined the Duquesne University Physician Assistant Program, as the Clinical Coordinator, in August 2007.
Additionally, Dana serves as the website manager for the AFPPA and is a member of AAPA. Recently she participated in a new faculty workshop at the PAEA Conference in Tucson Arizona and is considering pursuing a doctoral degree in counseling education. Her vast and varied clinical background is the cornerstone of her philosophy for providing the most extensive and realistic clinical experiences for PA students.
